I recently downloaded and installed SAS University Edition for Virtual Box. However, I am having issues importing any data into it. I have tried a PROC IMPORT as well as the INFILE statement and the user interface simply shows a 'running' dialog box indefinitely.
The dataset is a really small csv file stored in a folder shortcut. Here is what I type before SAS hang:
PROC IMPORT DATAFILE = "/folders/myshortcuts/Datasets/Transactions-1.csv" OUT = Transactions DBMS=csv REPLACE;
DATA TRANSACTIONS ;
INFILE '/folders/myshortcuts/Datasets/Transactions-1.csv' delimiter = ',' MISSOVER DSD LRECL=32767 FIRSTOBS=2 ;
INFORMAT ORDER_NO BEST32. ;
INFORMAT ORDER_DATE DATE9. ;
INFORMAT CUSTOMER $19. ;
INFORMAT EMPLOYEE $22. ;
INFORMAT TITLE $64. ;
INFORMAT GENRE $9. ;
INFORMAT QTY BEST32. ;
INFORMAT TOTAL BEST12. ;
FORMAT ORDER_NO BEST12. ;
FORMAT ORDER_DATE DATE9. ;
FORMAT CUSTOMER $19. ;
FORMAT EMPLOYEE $22. ;
FORMAT TITLE $64. ;
FORMAT GENRE $9. ;
FORMAT QTY BEST12. ;
FORMAT TOTAL BEST12. ;
Anybody else had such an issue? Any help would be much appreciated.

Assuming it is the same issue, for me it doesn't freeze it just continues the "Running" screen indefinitely. No errors are logged because it doesn't stop running.

There are a lot of people having the same kind of issues. See all those other threads like: https://communities.sas.com/thread/58754
I tried this one also copying code from the thread. Same kind of behavior in the failures with the screen timing. Needed to logout and restart the sas session (login) to recover. Remember all possible errors in the Unix box and case-sensitivity not using the T as capital can be a failure.
My log is saying (It is run and showing results but after recovering as I had the everlasting running popup also):
NOTE: The infile '/folders/myshortcuts/ikke/Transactions-1.csv' is:
