i know this must have been asked hundreds of times, but none of them get me to the solution I need.
So I am using SAS University Edition on Linux (Ubuntu 16.04).
I created the SASUniversityEdition Folder and inside of that a myfolders Folder. That folder is shared. I am pretty sure that is correctly done as I see the files of that folder in the visualisation SAS Software.
I save my files in a Folder called "Statistik 2"
I started with a simple LIBNAME Statement
LIBNAME Platte "/folders/myfolders/Statistik 2/";
that works. LOG posts successfully set.
Now I want to use a SAS Dataset out of that folder:
DATA DatenA2; SET Platte.Daten_EM2012_Dummies; RUN;
and SAS log tells me it does not exist. The File Daten_EM2012_Dummies.sas7bdat exists in the local folder and I can see it in the folder/file structure within SAS Studio.
I can open SAS Program Files *.sas with no further problems, just Data Tables won't work.
I don't see where I am going wrong here.
Would be happy if you found a problem with that.
it all works on a SAS Full Edition in University, with a different LIBNAME of course. So i guess the Problem is somewhere in my SAS University Edition config. I had it running once, but I can't remember what was different

Please post your log
Try running a proc datasets on library and/or proc copy. Basically anything that doesn't require you to reference dataset name directly.
Unix is case sensitive so make sure you match the case of the dataset name exactly.

LOG would be:
1 OPTIONS NONOTES NOSTIMER NOSOURCE NOSYNTAXCHECK; 55 56 DATA DatenA2; 57 SET Platte.Daten_EM2012_Dummies; ERROR: Datei PLATTE.DATEN_EM2012_DUMMIES.DATA existiert nicht. 58 RUN; NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors. WARNING: The data set WORK.DATENA2 may be incomplete. When this step was stopped there were 0 observations and 0 variables. NOTE: DATA statement used (Total process time): real time 0.00 seconds cpu time 0.01 seconds 59 60 OPTIONS NONOTES NOSTIMER NOSOURCE NOSYNTAXCHECK; 72
German version, error says
ERROR: File PLATTE.DATEN_EM2012_DUMMIES.DATA does not exist.
I checked case sensitivity. All good.
PROC DATASET with COPY option would tell me I can't copy, because the files don't exist

Use proc datasets with copy so you don't need to specify the dataset name.
If your right click the file in the file//folder view and then properties you'll see the full path. Can you paste that here?

Data testing; Set "/folders/myfolders/Statistik 2/Daten_EM2012_Dummies.sas7bdat"; run;

just a question. if my shared folder would not be correct I would not see the files in files structure, right?
and the SASUniversityEdition Folder can be where ever I want it to be, just has to have the myfolders folder in it, right? just to make sure there's no problem.
I already see my head hitting my table hard after the solution. I bet it's something very simple. I just don't see it

Please, try to remove space in path
try to rename folder to Statistik_2 and check if this helps
06-14-2016 03:22 AM
And try the standard reboot VM, reboot browser.
If none of those work contact SAS at firstname.lastname@example.org
i'm fairly sure I've seen this come up before though on here and resolved so you can try searching but I didn't have any luck

rebooting VM didn't help, renaming "Statistik 2" Folder to "stat2" neither.
I contacted email@example.com with this problem referring to this discussion.
Maybe someone here still has further hints, if not I (hopefully) will post a solution from support here

I've been working with this Dataset already on University PC with SAS 9.x Enterprise
and all of those Datasets I use there are not working in SAS University Edition enviroment
