SAS Enterprise Guide migration 4.1 to 4.3 import process

Hi

I was working on migrating projects from 4.1 to 4.3 and am facing some issues with respect to the import process.
Has anyone else faced the same?

The import process created in 4.1 doesn't work when we open the file in 4.3 and leads to SAS crash as well.
The import process created in 4.3 doesn't allow for importing datasets from xls with a different sheet name. :

e.g.:

  1. Create a dataset in hello.xls file with sheet name "hi". Also create another file "hello2.xls" and sheet name "bye" with same data.
  2. Create an import process in SAS 4.1 importing the data(hello.xls) with non-default formatting options.
  3. Try importing hello2.xls in 4.1 and it should work.
  4. Now, Go to SAS 4.3 and open the project file and try running it for hello.xls, it may or may not run?
  5. if it runs try running it for hello2.xls it won't work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

ok, but any log/error messages would help.

You also say "3... it should work". Well, does it? (I presume you mean in 4.1)

Re: SAS migration 4.1 to 4.3 import process

No error/warning comes, it just shows a blank log and in the output data tab says : work.dataset_XYZ doesn't exist.

yes you are right in assuming it works in 4.1.
