Hi,

 

As there are different ways to migrate the sas datasets from one Operating System to the other,  should the index files be copied separately.

 

1) I assume that the index files (.SAS7BNDX) would automatically be copied  when the associated SAS Datasets are copied.. No need to copy  index files separately.

 

2)  Do the sas views need to be migrated like the sas datasets.

There are different approaches to copy a dataset using SAS. As far as I'm aware of PROC COPY is the best way and more efficient.  Its purpose is to copy data sets quickly and completely including any associated indexes.
