SAS DI: insert date and time from SAS into Netezza

Hi ,

I have two charectar variables in a sas dataset;

var1                  var2
2014-03-06      04:55:12

I want to insert into Netezza database.

I have created the netezza database as

crete table

(

var1 date,

var2 time

);

my question is how to insert the data . what is the sas code ?

When:
- the table is defined as member of a netezza library

- SAS-formats to your SAS variables have been applied to their functionality
No need to think in SAS-code it will be converted. See: SAS/ACCESS(R) 9.3 for Relational Databases: Reference, Second Edition (Data Types for Netezza)

Only when the automatic conversion as documented is not according your specs you need to think.

By the way take care with the bigint types they are documented to be converted but failing by loss of precision

Funny that you are asking for SAS code. One of the main features of DI Studio is that it will generate the code for you.

So just link you  input data with your target data in the Table Loader. Be sure that the appropriate SAS formats is used, both in the loader and in the target table. When you get this far - try it. Then get back if there something that yo don't understand/get to work.

Data never sleeps
