Re: Running Sas from Sql Server

Please be more specific.

What does your program do/return?

Where is your data stored (that the SAS program access)?

Why do you want to execute it from SQLS?

Re: Running Sas from Sql Server

program should return a lot of calculated data . initially my data stored in sql, i import this data to sas, process it and export back to sql. I want to execute it from SQL because we want that process will be continuous i.e before i get data from sql, sql execute Mallab program, and Sas use data from Matlab. The problem that SAS don't know when Matlab finish his operation, and sql know.   We want one source of operation.

In addition i want to notice that we have Sas on serve, maybe it important.

thank you

Re: Running Sas from Sql Server

SAS program can be executed by a shell call to the SAS executable, and the SAS program as a parameter. Is that an option for you?

Things to consider is if SAS executes on the same host as SQLS.

Details on executing SAS programs in batch is available in Companion documentation, for Windows:

SAS(R) 9.3 Companion for Windows
