Proc geocode street level

I'm trying to geocode a list of addresses which i know are valid but the proc geocode only defaults to using the zip level.

How do I get it to use the street addresses?

Thanks!

Re: Proc geocode street level

Most likely you don't have street level map data at all. At least for 9.3 M2, it does not come with the factory shipment, you will have to download it.

I did mine by following this paper, I believe you can do the same thing:

Good luck,

To make sure I understand the question, you are saying you invoke PROC GEOCODE with METHOD=STREET and in the resultant data you have _MATCHED_=ZIP for records you expect to have _MATCHED_=Street?

Re: Proc geocode street level

What did it indicate in the _NOTES_ field for the suspicious records?  A possibility that that you are using outdated street geocoding data, which you get updates to from SAS Maps Online

@Hai.kuo makes a valid point.  What did you use with PROC GEOCODE as you LOCATION data-set?  If you did not define something, then your using SASHELP.ZIPCODE...

Re: Proc geocode street level

Thanks for the help.   I was originally using the geoexm dataset but I downloaded a new file which works.
