Hi, I am trying to use proc transpose and getting an error message.

here is my sample data

LocationProductYear_MonthQTY
CanadaProd A2013_01400
CanadaProd A2013_02100
CanadaProd C2013_02300
USAProd A2013_01500
USAProd C2013_02200

Here is my desired output

LocationProduct2013_012013_02
CanadaProd A400100
CanadaProd C-300
USAProd A500-
USAProd C-200

I was trying code like this:

proc transpose data=WORK.IN

out=WORK.OUT

by

Location PRoductL;

ID year_month;

got the following error message:

ERROR: The ID value "'2013-1'n" occurs twice in the same BY group.

and so on

please advice.

Thanks in advance

Should work if you add a semicolon before BY,  use Product instead of PRoductL and add a RUN; statement at the end. - PG
