Problem using Excelcs engine in proc import

Hi all ,

I have to use distant access to import my Excel file .

The issue that the EXCELCS engine support just (.xls )and (.xlsb), so i don't know how to import ( xlsx) and (xlsm) files.

Also, I can't use the option ( Getnames = Yes), so i don't know how to import my columns names.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Maya.

Re: Problem using Excelcs engine in proc import

Try XLSX engine.

Also, contact tech support. There are a lot of variants in systems, what version of SAS, what version of Excel, what bitness of each, what OS's are you on, so they can work directly with you quickly to get it answered.

I don't think you need getnames for excel files, it does that automatically.

I also generally prefer the libname method, but you still need to know the engine to use.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

Since I'm new in SAS , I was reading how to use the libname method :-)

I'm using SAS 9.3 , the operating system of the server is Windows 7 and my excel file could be excel 2003 , 2007 or 2010.
