Okay I'm a newbie so this may be a dumb question. I've seen a coworker use data to fit a line and then be able to take that fit and predict Y values. I can't for the life of me find it anywhere in any of the JMP documentation. If someone can point me in the in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Do you need to use JMP for this, as this can be done rather easily in base SAS.

From your explanation it sounds like your co-worker did a simple linear regression, and then used the output values from proc regression in order to predict the sales values... Is this good enough for what you are trying to accomplish?

If so, there are numerous papers on regression in SAS that should likely help.

Let me know if I mis-understood your question.

Sorry, I should have more clear. I'm doing this in JMP. In this case I'm fitting a straight line, but I think you can use whatever model you fit to the data. There is a way to "predict" and I can't find the right click or menu item to make it do this (the interface is a challenge). Not a SAS programmer by any stretch of the imagination.

Thanks!
