I am trying to convert the about date into the date format 31/06/2008.

Could you please any one help in getting this resolved?

I don't think that's a valid date?  If it was, it should be a simple matter to read it in as a date and apply the ddmmyy10. format.

there were only 30 days in June.

  set abc;

   new_date=input(start_date,yymmdd10.);

  format new_date ddmmyy10.;

  proc print;run;

Or directly in the input step is possible.

informat start_date yymmdd10.;

format start_date date9.;

input start_date;
