Hi,
I have SPD server installed in my current environment (Unix -- SAS 9.3). These SPD datasets are clustered. I need to migrate this data onto Linux with SAS 9.4 up gradation, with the same clustering in place. What could be the best way to deal with the clustered SPD datasets when in comes to migrating them from one server to the other.
current is Unix
If it's running on HP-UX, AIX or Solaris, you will most probably have to cport/cimport the datasets, as internal structures (big- vs. little-endian) will be different.
5.4 is backward compatible to 4.x.
The documentation doesn't say anything about cross platform support which we may can interpret as it is supported (since the documentation puts quite an emphasis on pointing out the difference between 32 and 64 bit data).
But contact SAS Tech support for verification.
If verified, you should be able to move the files using OS commands/ftp etc.
