Hi masters,

I need to merge two datasets based on company name but those two datasets could have slightly different company names. So I need to find the four most similar company names and manually match them.

what function in sas can be used for this purpose?

Note that you may not be able to let functions pick you "closest" without some judgment. If the company in one set is International Business Machines and IBM in the other then the functions may not get the smallest differences for this type of match.
