How to import csv files including the SUB character (ASCII=26)?

I would like to import many big csv files in SAS and some of them include the SUB character (ASCII=26). When SAS reaches this character, it stops processing and reports a success.

I am able to remove this character using powershell and then I can correctly import the files in SAS. However, running the powershell code all the files is not efficient.

Is there a way to fix this problem in SAS, for example to tell SAS to not stop importing when it reaches this character?

Any help would be appreciated.

Try the

IGNOREDOSEOF

option, as mentioned in INFILE Statement: Windows in the Companion for Windows.

Re: How to import csv files including the SUB character (ASCII=26)?

1) Why does your data have this in the first place?

2) What code are you using to read it in?

3) Perhaps a small example file showing the issue?

Likely you should just be able to add the option: ignoredoseof

To your filename statement. But you may just have have to be more creative, depending on the actual character.
