How should you change the sastrust@saspw?

We have a situation that we need to change the sastrust@saspw password ... What is the best possible way so that it trickles down to all applications.

When we changed the sastrust@saspw password, it broke the mid-tier JBoss. JBoss is not restarting & complaining about incorrect password. I think JBoss stores the password deeply buried in
the application which we are not able to find & replace. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are many places where the password of sastrust@saspw is stored in some config file of a tool. The same issue is applicable for the sasadm@saspw

The only reference seen is that you should be able to change it with the sdw.  Very tricky as it could be looking working all right and than after a restart you are into problems. When the cause of the restart is another problem your problems are starting to stack up.

Which SAS version are you using? Assuming it's SAS 9.3 the following links might give you some hints of where to look for passwords.

We have SAS 9.2.

If your SAS installation is on a UNIX system:

navigate to your LevN subdirectory in the configuration tree

Do

find . -type f -name \*.xml -exec grep sastrust@saspw {} \; -print

repeat for name \*.cfg

You will need to do a redeployment of the web applications to the servlet container (jboss) after you alter the .xml.

Hi Kurt

We have modified all the *.xml & *.cfg files. I think we will have to redeploy the web application. Do you have step wise guide for the deployment of the web application?

Thanks
