Hi. Do you know how to find a zip code based on location? Is there any function like this?

Or what kind of code shall I write if I have the following information to get the zip code in sas

1. US zip codes with their corresponding latitude and longitude coordinates

2. Specific Location with latitude and longitude

You should have a dataset SASHELP.Zipcode which contains the latitude and longitude of the approximate center of a Zipcode.

So you could select "close" values from that set to your coordinates, calculate the distances from your coordinates for the candidate pairs (geodist function) and select the one with the smallest distance. Which might get close. But 1) Zipcodes do not have anything resembling regular boundaries or shapes.

Another option is to get the Zipcode Tabulation map dataset from the US census bureau website and attempt to use Ginside as @Reeza suggests or Proc Geocode. However that data set has very glaring holes (large parts of states without a tabulation area) in low population density areas (western states mostly).

I don't know if this will work for you particular case, but look at PROC GINSIDE - and check the examples in the documentation.
