Hi All ,

From SMC we can take back up for the entire metadata. But I want to take backup for a perticular group ( say for Marketing group ) data .Then how can I do it ?? Please help me with the steps .

Maybe there are other ways, but you can build export packages of a subset of your metadata. These exports can defined as jobs that can be scheduled (you need 9.3 or higher for this).

yes I am using SAS 9.3 ..But doing export and import each time is kinda bit of extra work. Is there any way to automate the process ??

As I wrote, these exports can be done using scripting, which in turn can be scheduled (or do you have any other requirement for automating?). All information that you need should be available in the SMC documentation.
