Hi, I'm a uni student and have just installed SAS 9.4. Pardon me that I am totally new to SAS. This is the error message when I try to launch the application. I have tried googling but to no avail.
Request for some help.

You seem to have a permission problem on
MS security essentials and antivirus may also be the culprit:

Your IT folks may have restricted modify rights to the C drive location. We have found we have to make the user an Administrator on the PC, or modify the sas config file to change the locations for work, sasuser, etc. to a network location where the user does have modify rights.

C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp\SAS Temporary is commonly open to the current user.
When you are using an installation done by Daniel and your userid is not Daniel the problem is obvious a result by an installer that has to tried to outsmart Windows by coding it himself an not using a system-environment variable.

Thanks for your speedy reply. I am the administrator when I install the program and was trying to launch it in my user account which is also the administrator account.

Daniel, Are the admin account and user account diiferent Windows accounts but sharing the user profile settings?
Than check the user account has the needed access for the %TMP% user directory. Many tools do not have any temp-files there. SAS does have them. It could be a Windows setup issue.
