I was using Enterprise Minor and it was working just fine.  When I tried opening Enterprise Guide to work on homework again, I got an error saying SAS Enterprise Guide needs to close.  When I click on "Show Details" the first line reads, '.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Lone 1, position 1."

I tried uninstalling the program on my computer and re-installing it to see if that work but unfortunately it did not.

Could some please help me fix this problem?

Thanks!

Hi,

 Follow these Below Steps:

  1. Close all sessions of SAS Enterprise Guide.
  2. Navigate to C:\users\user-ID\AppData\Roaming\SAS\EnterpriseGuide.
  3. Rename the 6.1 folder to 6.1_OLD.(Depending on your Version)
  4. Reopen SAS Enterprise Guide. You should see that a new 6.1 folder has been created, and the issue should be resolved.

Thanks Prasanth, this worked for SAS EG 7.1 as well. Do you have any insight on the cause of the issue?

Thanks again!
