ERROR: Physical file does not exist, C:\Users\User\Desktop\SAS\NEWD

Hi Friends,

Need some help in creating a new file from an existing sas file (NEWD.SAS7BDAT).

Some Details:

  • Running SAS 9.2 Locally.
  • OS: Windows 7
  • Libname: A (C:\Users\User\Desktop\SAS)
  • Can confirm the contents and Variables of file by Proc Print.
  • All variables are numeric.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DATA A.DATA1;

    INFILE "C:\Users\User\Desktop\SAS\NEWD"; *PHYSICAL FILE DOES NOT EXIST;

    INPUT SALES YEAR MONTH;

RUN;

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tried the same by changing file extension with no success. It creates the file but with no data/value.

Appreciate your help...

Regards,

Ak

NEWD.SAS7BDAT is a SAS data set. Use a SET statement to read it, not an INFILE statement.
