Hi,

How can I tell what character set (locale) is used in a SAS data file?

I have an issue using some SAS datafiles in Tableau. When I connect to the data file and view it in Tableau, some rows are missing. These rows show up in SAS EG. When I create a copy of the SAS data file using proc copy and connect to it with Tableau, the rows appear.

Thanks in advance.

PROC CONTENTS will tell you the encoding (character set) of a SAS dataset:

proc contents data = sashelp.class;run;

You will find the SAS NLS Guide helpful in fixing NLS options:
