Hello SAS Community,

I am trying to create a new numeric variable (DA3) from two seperate numeric variables (DA1, DA2) . I would like my new variable or DA3 to be DA1 and DA2 seperated by a decimal. So for example,

 DA1             DA2       DA3
7806   780.6
12478124.78
54654.6

 Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Post test data in the form of a datastep.  We cannot see your data and so have to make assumptions, so I am going to assume that da1 and 2 are character, and the result should be character:

data want;
  set have;
  da3=catx('.',da1,da2);
run;
