Creating SAS Folders

Hi

I am currently creating the folder structure for our SAS system. I am doing this through the Management Console under the Folder tab.   The SAS data is not going to be stored on the same drive that SAS is installed on. Data/Code is on drive F: SAS is installed on drive E:. 

I am trying to confirm that the folders that I am creating are being created on the F: drive. But after I create a folder I cannot see it in windows explorer. Is there some way that I can identify where on the server SAS creates a folder once I have created it through the management console. 

I know this is a basic question but I am having problems finding a solution.

SAS Folders has nothing to do with OS directories/physical paths, even though the icons looks a bit the same.

SAS Folders holds SAS metadata, and they stored in the metadata server internal database.

SAS Metadata object can in turn refer to stuff stored physically outside the metadata server, such as external files, SAS code, libref locations etc.

Since I am new to EBI and MC, you will be getting better or more accurate answers. From my 1 month of self-teaching experience, when you use MC, you are connecting to your SAS metadata server. Your MC will communicate with any other machines if their spawner is running, and in many cases, the spawner service may not be activated on your PC. So the drives (F:, E: etc) you are seeing are NOT your local drives, as MC is NOT capable of engaging them if your PC spawner is not running. The folder you have created is a remote folder on your server drive, and you will find it remotely.
