Hi Everyone,

At the moment, we have sas 9.2 Metadata Server on Windows & Workspace server of Unix. We want to migrate to 9.4 (both Metadata & Workspace servers) on Linux. Do we have a step-wise guide for this? Also is it possible to migrate from 9.2 to 9.4?

I know you cant migrate from 9.1 to 9.4. Does anyone know as to why we can't migrate from SAS 9.1 to 9.4 ... I was advised that we have to migrate to 9.3 first & then again to 9.4?

Thanks

Abhi

DO NOT MIGRATE.

Set up your new environment on the new server and then transfer your data and applications to the new environment, one by one. When you have verified that your new environment works, switch your users over to it. Once it runs under real life conditions, you can then deactivate the old setup.

Why?

With a migration, you take all the mistakes you made in setting up the old environment with you. That is especially true with a migration from 9.1; the metadata structure was greatly enhanced from 9.1 to 9.2.

Use the opportunity to get things straight.
