Accessing SAS/UNIX files using MS ACCESS

Hello, I am a SAS novice and learning SAS on my own. Here is what I'm trying to do:

I have SAS installed on UNIX. I use MS ACCESS to produce GUI based reports. I have few large files in SAS/UNIX. Is it possible to run query in SAS/UNIX files and produce report in MS ACCESS? I don’t want to import huge files from SAS/UNIX to MS ACCESS.

I've never done it but your question inspired me to do a quick Internet search. The following two links might point you into the right direction; and I assume if you search a bit more then there will be more information available.

Is it possible to run query in SAS/UNIX files and produce report in MS ACCESS?

I guess the design question you need to answer for yourself: Do you want SAS on the server side to produce the report and you just want to somehow stream this report back to the calling client for presentation (with MS Access being the client) - this wouldn't then be a MS Access report though but you've just called it out of MS Access via VB.

...Or: Do you want to produce the report in MS Access. I believe then the SAS Server could only do the query for you and reduce data volumes to the minimum required for MS Access to procuduce the report. You would have to transfer this data to MS Access then.
