Some very interesting discussions will possibly never surface high up on the tab "Popular Posts" (on the Communities' homepage) just because none of the constituent posts has more than 2-3 likes. So, how about a tab "Popular Threads" sorted by descending total number of likes?   Similarly, the column "Likes" on the page "All Topics" might be more informative if it contained the total number of likes in the thread rather than the number of likes for the initial post, which is mostly zero. This suggestion is related to  Make it easier to find interesting discussions   I've welcomed the Learn SAS/New User forum a lot and also the instruction for "helpers" to be "kind and patient". We all had a time where SAS was new to us.    I'm observing that over the last year or so some of the very senior long year SAS-L contributors are becoming active in the SAS Forum here. What about creating a Tech Expert space where some of the very detailed deep-dive discussions in the SAS-L style can happen. ...and with a clear expectation that both OP's and contributors are on SAS expert level and that discussions can get into the "nuts & bolts" and even become "academic".   Below moved to another "new idea" here. I miss the ability to down-vote ballot ideas.  Seems now all we can do is like an idea.   When I have submitted an idea in the past, it's been useful to see how many up/down votes it gets.  In general, ideas seem to get little attention from the community, so now if I have 2 likes for an idea, I don't know if it's because 2 people looked at it and liked it or if 10 people looked and 8 thought the idea was rubbish.   And on a related note, I'd support just about any proposals for ways to bring more activity to the ballot ideas community.  The old-school SASWare ballot used to feel like an annual event (when the survery came out, and when results were released).  I asssume the online ballot is not providing nearly as much information back to SAS, given the low participation that I see.   (I apologize if that all sounds negative; I feel positive about communities.sas.com : ) ... Every once in a while, someone finds an old post via an internet search. They then post "I have this problem too," which resurrects the old post.  For example, this post from 2012 was recently resurrected.   IMHO, the old posts should hang around, but should be set to read-only after a certain period of time, such as 6 months or 1 year.  That forces new OPs to open a new question. I think this is a good idea because the new OP has different data and is running a different version of SAS from the original OP.  Also, the new OP often has a slightly different question than the original OP.   I have seen old posts set to read-only in some other Q&A forums, so there is a precedent for this action.   Please discuss.   ... Right now, one has to rename a .log to .txt for attaching it to a post. Since we often ask for logs, and some of those logs may grow quite large to be usable for diagnosis, easy upload of such files would be fine. I suspect I may not be the only one that uses the SAS Monospace font in the output window, for those still using DMS, to get "prettier" boxes using line drawing characters instead of +!- and such. So for the few times when I post results from the output window, or listing destination, it would be nice to have the option to set the font to SAS Monospace so the output would look nice instead of the random replacement with  other high order ASCII characters. I may be feeling grumpy this morning but how about an topic on the board that is something like "MY DATA STARTED IN EXCEL" and move every post that mentions Excel or has an xlsx attachment to that topic with a script.   It seems like a vast majority of errors or data issues arise from importing data from Excel regardless of the topic the question is posted to.   Or perhaps in the Stop right there section have a "If you data started in Excel click here <link> " to post it in that area.   I may be optimistic that some of users may actually read other posts about the exact same issue if they see their thread among others that look the same.   Rant mode <off>. I like the addition of non-English communities to the forum pages like Community deutschsprachiger SAS-Programmierer und -Anwender   I would like if the content of communities I haven't joined wouldn't show up for me in the general "SAS Support Communities" page - or if I could at least "opt out" to see content of such communities.   I personally have no issues with German but if this is growing then there could be more and more Communities in non-English languages which are irrelevant to me as I don't speak the language - so I don't want to see those. ... In the previous SAS Support Communities Jive platform, after posting a reply/post I sometimes found a typo and edited the page. There was a very useful check box option, along the lines of: "minor edit - do not send notification updates". I noticed in this new Lithium platform this type of option does not seem to be available or activated and I noticed that I can get quite a few emails on replies/posts that are further edited that I subscribe too.   Is there a way to see if this feature is available and if so to turnit on so that community members have the option to turn off notifications on minor edits to replies/posts they do?   Thanks, Michelle ...
