Welcome to SAS Support Communities!

Or should we say, welcome to the redesigned SAS Support Communities.

Many years ago, SAS Support Communities began as a way to connect and help SAS users. Since that time, our communities have seen tremendous growth in membership and readership. You -- our members -- show a vast diversity of interests. You have curiosity and knowledge about all sorts of topics, and you are willing to share lots of time and expertise to help each other.

To take communities.sas.com to the next level, we have upgraded our communities platform and redesigned the site.  Our new environment will help you to:

  • Find correct information faster with intuitive searches
  • Connect with your peers
  • Share what you know with others

You’ll notice some immediate benefits of our new site:

  • A quality mobile experience
  • A new system of ranks and badges that reward you for contributions to the community
  • Better SPAM filters, keeping the noise level down so you can enjoy the good content

If you have used communities.sas.com in the past, you’ll notice that our new site has some new behaviors and features. There’s a new ranking structure (for those of you who keep track) and some new terminology. And we’ve added things like badges and an article Library, to make it easier for you to show off your expertise.

Check out your new community! This video gives you a good overview of what to expect.

As our new tagline says, “Ask. Find. Share.” The SAS Support Communities are designed to help you learn and grow as a SAS user. Jump right in and start absorbing the collective knowledge of a world of talented SAS users. After all, that’s what a community is all about.

No flash video please! Any other source for the overview?

My handle has been modified to something I dislike. How do I change it? Thanks.

Just some questions.

1/ I am using IE11 wiht the new communities. It is having trouble wiht the loging (looping)

With firefox and chrome it is working. that limitation is not very friendly as in some areas I am limited in my options.

2/ In the communities site there was a nice overview on replies in the site. No mails needed for a review on that.
It seems that I need  the click the email checkbox now en every post.

3/ I didn't found the correction option *typos* yes. Any hint wher to find it?

Update at 3/:

Found the edit/update options. It is behind those dots as a pull-down.  The similar elisses interface as with Eminer.

Update at 2/:

There is somehting of a list at my personal page. Did not yet get it how to use that smartl.

Update at 1/:
Michelle, yep that looping what I have seen was a try to describe what was happening in the login action. It seemed to do something and when ready restarted. (blnking icon/adress)

@ChrisNZ, I can change your username, no problem - if you want to message me privately or let me know here, I will change it.

@jakarman, thank you for your questions. I will try to answer here:

1. Yes we are working on some signin/ signout issues with the new implementation of our single-sign on. When you mention looping, do you mean you not able to login or do you mean the extra screen refresh that is happening? (We are working on both to fix asap).

2. I agree! We are taking all the feedback in and over the next weeks plan to adjust the site to suit what is best for you all. Thank you for this feedback. This information exists - we just have not made it visible on the site.

Does this provide what you are looking for? https://communities.sas.com/t5/forums/recentpostspage/post-type/thread

and also https://communities.sas.com/t5/forums/recentpostspage/post-type/message.

(see other discussion about this issue) -- your feedback matters  (helps with prioritizing changes)

3. We have a spell checker in the editor toolbar (unless you are using a mobile devce) spell.png

Please also see this FAQ Section about the site.

@MichelleHomes Thank you for adding the link to the YouTube videos.

Thank you all for your patience as we work to turn this new flexible platform into something that works best for you all. Just keep that feedback coming. Thanks!

No problem @LainieH

FYI - I think @jakarman's comment about the looping is how the request goes back and forth to different sites to authenticate (ie/ looping) and then results in a 404 error. I get the same experience when I use FireFox and so I'm now using a Chrome browser instead. The same when I'm on the iPad. Safari browser results in a 404 error and so I use Chrome on the iPad too.

Thank you Lainie. If I can't have my @ back please change to ChrisNZ.

Also, why have such narrow banners at the top of the forum's pages? They only cover half of my screen. And since the new content layout is now so very sparse, I can still see 3 whole discussion topics in the bottom half when I open the forum on my full-HD monitor.

Yes this was sarcastic. 🙂

Hi @ChrisNZ, Your user name has been changed.

(I hear you) re: the banners.. I am consolidating user feedback right now for a community team meeting tomorrow and I'm adding this feedback to the list. I definitely understand and we'll be talking about this. Your feedback is extremely valuable as it helps with decisions and prioritization. Thank you..  🙂

Have a good day,

Lainie
