Hi,

Some of our clients use SAS System Viewer to examine transport files. What is the meaning of the column DLen?

Thanks,

Laura

LENGTH is the storage length of the internal value.  DLen is the length of the formatted value.

So normally a numeric variable will have LENGTH=8.  If the FORMAT is set to F12. then the display length would be 12.
