Using this:

 

ods text = 'This is ^{style [color=red] Red}'; 

This:

 

This is ^{style [color=red] Red}

 

is printed in the result tab and html tab rather than Red being printed red. I cannot see there being anything wrong.

Use ODS Escapechar like this

 

ods escapechar='^';
ods text = 'This is ^{style [color=red] Red}';
proc print data=sashelp.class;
run;
