can rename the old file and generate the new excel file. or create a number next to the file.

Please take the time to add some more detail to your questions. Vague question = vague answers.

 

So the solution to what I'm assuming is your question, is to use FEXIST to check if the file already exists and if it does then create a new name and repeat until you have a unique name.  A common solution is to add a datetime stamp to the end to ensure uniqueness. I'm less of a fan of this option.
