Hi,
I have data that is suppose to be a date in the format mmddyy in excel. I am able to get majority of it into sas and convert it properly apart from some. The observations i am have a problem with are the ones that the user just entered the year, leaving out the day and month. These convert to 0 . is there any way to get sas to convert these observations to the equivalent of general formate in excel? Thave attached a sceenshot of the data
Thanks
The answer is no. In Excel, each value (cell) can have its own format. In SAS, formats are associated with variables, not individual values. A variable can be formatted as YEAR4. or MMDDYY10. , but not both. If you want to mix formats. convert your data to character.
