Is it possible to define buffer size  in the libname statement?   or how can pre define  buffsize = for the whole librabry?

Thanks.

Maybe you need to find something in Documentation.

If you connect to Oracle (can't DB2) you can use readbuff=1000 to promote the speed of extracting data.

i.e. extract 1000 obe one time.

libname x oracle ............   readbuff=1000 ;

bufsize can be defined as either a data set option or a system option, but not as a library option, as far as I know.  The dataset option supercedes the system option setting.  Either way the option is applied on the creation of a dataset and remains with it until it is either rebuilt using a different bufsize or deleted.  So if you wanted to apply a certain bufsize to ever dataset in a library you should be sure to rebuild all your datasets using the appropriate number.  An method that can aid in redefining an entire libraries bufsize is proc migrate.  Of course this does not aid in setting the same bufsize to new datasets added later to this library.
