Im having a character variable with some values, by default the character variable values will get aligned to the "LEFT", but i want the same charater variable values to be aligned "RIGHT".

 

anyone have solution for this??

Use the appropriate function:

Left()

Right()

 

 

If using a report procedure you may need to specify it in the report somehow. Depends on the report and destination most likely.

I'm not using any proc here. I just want the finaldate variable values to be aligned to the right in my dataset itself.

The hash OUTPUT method will overwrite a SAS data set, but not append. That can be costly. Consider voting for Add a HASH object method which would append a hash object to an existing SAS data set

Would enabling PROC SORT to simultaneously output multiple datasets be useful? Then vote for
Allow PROC SORT to output multiple datasets
