Hi,

I have a dataset with patient IDs and some variables such as race, gender, age, etc. I would like to find the minimum age AND the ID associated with that minimum... I can't seem to find an option to do this. Here is what my code looks like:

proc means data=mydata min;

     var age;

run;

I am open to using a different proc, I just figured I would start with this one. Can anyone help? Thanks!

proc sql;
create table want as
select *
from sashelp.class (rename=(name=id))
having age eq min(age)
;
quit;

I know Art.T has already given you a smart solution.Proc means also can do it.

proc means data=sashelp.class noprint;
id name;
     var age;
     output out=x min=min_age;
run;
proc print;
