Hi,

How can I get the metadata type of a metadata object whose URI I have?
I need to use the METADATA_ data step functions.

Thanks,
Bart

Anything wrong with the METADATA procedure?

If not, check page 57 of the Open Metadata Interface here:
http://support.sas.com/documentation/onlinedoc/91pdf/sasdoc_91/base_omi_7253.pdf

Cheers from Portugal.

Try the metata_resolve function, here's an example:

data _null_;

length id $20
type $256;

rc=metadata_resolve("omsobj:A50URHMK.BU000001",type,id);
put type=;
run;

The type variable will contain what exactly what you're looking for

Cheers
