How to use dual screen with SAS

Hello all,

Although this is not a question about programing, I did not know where to ask so I am puttying my question here.

I'd like to put a editor in one monitor and the view window in another monitor, but I have not figured out how to do this. So far, it appears that SAS does not allow me to use more than one screen. If there's way to use more than one screen, I will be very happy to know!

Thank you.

I assume you mean the SAS9.X product installed on your machine (or locally).  If so, I don't know of a method to do what you ask.  All the windows within the app are confined to the SAS app container..  I don;t have a dual monitor setup available at the moment, have you tried stretching the SAS window across both outputs, and then aligning windows within that.

Also, if by view window, you mean the output/log, you can redirect these to files and have them open separately.

Hopefully with the move to net based interafaces this kind of issue will dissapear.

Thanks a lot for the prompt response! I did not know that I can extend SAS window to multiple monitors. Due to the different resolution of each monitor, there's little bit of wasted space in one monitor, but I am glad to know that I can utilize both monitors!

Be prepared for the Operating System to resize things for you. Also if you have SAS set to save settings on closing it likely will not re-open the next session across both screens because of operation systemn limits. At which point the "window" for the SAS element displayed in the extended section may well end up with a width of next to zero and will require manually expanding.
