Hi,

I am trying to read in spanish charcaters (for eg: ñeva) from Oracle into unix SAS. I am getting the names in SAS tables as (?eva). It puts a question mark (?) whenever there are accent characters. How can i rectify this? also, is it possible to change the properties of the SAS tables in UNIX ? i want to change the encodign proerties to 'latin1' instead of default.

Let me know if you need any additional details.

Thank you in advance!

You'd better change your SAS session's encoding too .

proc datasets library=work nodetails nolist;
 modify have/ correctencoding='utf8' ;
quit;
