Hello -

I came across this article that shows that "termstr" option can be used for delimited files from Unix to Windows, vice-versa...

I am just curious, is there an equivalent of this option in the mainframe environment ?   Is it possible to define the EOL character in an INFILE statement on the mainframe ?

Thanks in advance...

Kannand only when you are running a mainfrem in Unix mode the Unix rules apply. In the OLD MVS z/OS world it is completely different and nothing like Windos Unix exist. FB VB VSAM have well defined records and do not use a character indicator (termstr) for that. Ebcdic/Ascii code pages adding more comlexity to translations as some might think.

If you co not believe me ... this manual should be in your head.   The USS (HFS type is a UNIX way) and the normal classic datasets. FILENAME Statement: z/OS ,  SAS(R) 9.4 Companion for z/OS, Fifth Edition
