I have some code that creates an empty table, then loads it with data from external sources. The program is meant to be manually run when new data is available. My problem is that when the code runs a second time, the create table section overwrites the table and replaces it with an empty one. How can I check for the existence of the table before creating it?

Thanks in advance.

proc sql;
create table depot;
quit;

proc sql;
insert into depot
select * from source;
quit;

You could do that fairly easily by wrapping your code within a SAS macro. Take a look at:
