I have used below code and got the message

WARNING: Some character data was lost during transcoding in column: Parameter Name at obs 15.

 

there is a special character - lambda in the data and proc import is showing 'z' in the sas dataset. can you help me how to read lambda into sas dataset from xlsx?

 

PROC IMPORT DATAFILE= "/path/dds_29.xlsx"

OUT= map_spec

DBMS=xlsx

REPLACE;

GETNAMES=YES;

RUN;

It has to do with your encoding. I was able to successfully import a lambda in an .xlsx file with SAS 9.4 (Unicode Support) which is in the additional languages folder.
