I have used below code and got the message
WARNING: Some character data was lost during transcoding in column: Parameter Name at obs 15.
there is a special character - lambda in the data and proc import is showing 'z' in the sas dataset. can you help me how to read lambda into sas dataset from xlsx?
PROC IMPORT DATAFILE= "/path/dds_29.xlsx"
OUT= map_spec
DBMS=xlsx
REPLACE;
GETNAMES=YES;
RUN;
It has to do with your encoding. I was able to successfully import a lambda in an .xlsx file with SAS 9.4 (Unicode Support) which is in the additional languages folder. I found this article helpful: Demystifying and resolving common transcoding problems. Also, this support page: http://support.sas.com/kb/52/716.html.
