We are replacing a Solaris server.  The new server will have a different host name until it is moved into production.  If  SAS 9.3 is installed on the new server using a temporary host name,  can the host name  and IP addressed be changed without breaking SAS?  This is a single server but I think without reconfiguring the host name and IP address, SAS will have a hard time.

A common approach to this type of issue is to create aliases for your SAS servers and install using the alias. That means at any time you can change the physical server name as long as it still points to the alias.
