Installation Note 52767 says that if you apply Update 1 to Windows 8.1 or to Windows Server 2012 R2, the update might cause a SAS 9.4 installation to fail and cause installed SAS 9.4 Java clients to not open.

The note currently provides a work-around for the problem.  SAS is working on a fix for these issues. Read Installation Note 52767 for more information and updates.

Is there any feedback on this problem or a different fix to uninstalling KB2919355?

I have two machines that are brand new systems and the KB2919355 update is preinstalled. It came with the latest Win 8.1 Enterprise x64 DVD used when setting up the machines and there was no option not to install it.

Unlike the other updates installed via Windows Updates, there is no option to uninstall KB2919355 when I go into the Control Panel --> Windows Update --> Installed Updates. KB2919355 shows up under installed Microsoft Windows updates, but it cannot be uninstalled.

Tried compatibility mode, but the same error message appears. Using the latest 9.4 TS1M1 files downloaded via the Download Manager this weekend.

Thanks for the help.

Chris,

Please open a track with Technical Support (support@sas.com) and we can help you work around this problem. We are planning on a hot fix to address these situations but can help you in the interim if you cannot remove the KB2919355 update.

Thanks,

Casey

Is there any update on a hot fix? I just ran into this issue today while trying to install 9.4 on a machine with Windows 8.1 Update 1. Thanks, Matt
