Good morning,

Currently my department is in charge of the contract with SAS for all departments in the state.  We are looking at standing up a depot so that those users can install the software from our site instead of having to go out to the main SAS download site.

We will have staff in various locations on multiple domains that would be different than ours.

We are trying to determine what the best way is to set the depot up.

Thanks

What types of installations will users be doing? Just PC installs or are server installs also possible? If it is just PC installs would that include Foundation / Base SAS or just SAS client apps like Enterprise Guide that connect to remote SAS servers? It would make sense to subset your SAS Software Depot for different user requirements.

In a typical corporate environment, All desktops are centrally managed by the IT team. User's do not have the ability to install anything.
If SAS is installed on the Desktops, then the IT team only needs access to the software. Depot can be stored along with other software installers.

If SAS is installed on the Server, only the Admins need access to the software. Again this can be stored along with other installers.
Therefore SAS depot can be placed along with other software installer packages.
