SAS Contextual Analysis - Configure https for Client Validation

Hello,

i am about to configure using https for the web application SAS Contextual Analysis. A Web Server and a Web Application Server for Contextual Analysis is installed and running.

Now i want to configure https and so far i came to the conclusion that I have to complete the following steps:

1) Stop the Web and Web Application Server

2) Change the server.xml for the Web Application Server and configure for the .keystore - File and the Certificate

3) Change the httpd - file for the Web Server and then change the httpd-ssl - File

4) Restart both Servers

5) Configure the Firewall Ports if needed

6) The Application should be reached via https within the Browser

Is this the usual way to configure https for SAS Contextual Analysis or do I have to configure something at another point in the system?

Or is it enough to configure SAS Web Server?

Best Regards

Re: SAS Contextual Analysis - Configure https for Client Validation

Hi. It is recommended that you have the SAS Deployment Wizard configure the SAS Web Application Server for TLS so that your TLS settings will always be preserved in future update, add-ons and maintenance. You will find detailed steps to manually configure and manage it in Configuring SAS Web Server Manually for HTTPS. Steps to configure the SAS Web Application Server are documented in the Configuring SAS Web Application Server to Use HTTPS.

At a high-level your steps seem correct. The steps you note would need to be applied to each SAS Web Application Server instance, e.g. SASServer1, SASServer2, etc. Please refer to the documentation for more detail.

Also, please be sure you are familiar with this topic, also in the SAS® 9.4 Intelligence Platform: Middle-Tier Administration Guide, Fourth Edition, when planning future activities, Preserving TLS and Existing Customer Reverse Proxy Customizations.

Cheers
