Windows Server 2019 environment.
This is such a silly little thing but it's doing my head in! I've downloaded the 64 bit SMU for Windows and I'm trying to run it, initially with the -help option. But I just get
No Java executable could be found in any configured location
I've tried setting JAVA_HOME to the location of the SAS Private Java Runtime Environment but to no avail. I couldn't find anything in the documentation about it. Can anyone help me out?!
Thanks.
Then, please use the jrehome option to specify the jre location.
e.g../smu94_x64.exe -jrehome c:\deploy\JRE11\jre -properties c:\deploy\SMU\smu.properties
Full details can be found in the SMU guide under section 'SAS Migration Utility Requirements'. Please read the manual in detail and it gives all the information you need.
What version of Java is on your machine? The latest SMU requires Java 21. See Migration Utility Requirements: SAS Help Center: Inventorying Your Current SAS Deployment
According to the download page it requires Java 11, which is what we have in the Private Java Runtime Environment:
You should get the JRE and SMU from your depot. Details can be from the Migration Guide:
https://documentation.sas.com/doc/en/bicdc/9.4/bimig/n02005intelplatform00migrate.htm
I've got both the SMU and the JRE. It's just that the SMU isn't finding the JRE and I can't work out how to get it to do that.
Thank you @Eddie305 that's what I needed! I'd been looking at this section:
It looks like the SMU does not have the -help option and using it will result in the Java not found error. Additionally, you get that same error if you attempt to double-click the exe.
I can successfully run the M8 smu in my SAS deployment that has Java 11 by pointing to my properties file, like:
smu94_x64.exe -properties c:\temp\smu.properties
