Multiple Depots, which one was used?

Hi.

Hopefully a simple question, and just making sure I haven't missed anything

If you have multiple depots on site, is there a way of checking an installation for what depot was used (ie PC has EG installed and need to know what depot was used to do the install)

Cheers

Barry

Re: Multiple Depots, which one was used?

HI Barry,

On Windows the quickest way is to open the sdwpreferences.txt file located in

C:\Users\<userid_that_performed_install>\AppData\Local\SAS\SASDeploymentWizard

and look for

LastSSDDir=V\:\\9BBDNM

Thanks Sunshine, will have a look as this points me in the right direction

Should have said this is SAS 9.2, and don't know who did the install... Smiley Wink

Re: Multiple Depots, which one was used?

If your LastSSDDir value points to an ambigious network share, or the install user profile has been wiped there is some other helpful information. You can check the !SASHOME\SASDeploymentManager\9.2\order_data folder, it will list the order(s) used to perform the installation, as well as the registry.xml in !SASHome\deploymentreg, it will give you a breakdown per product what order was used, the last used order, and who the install user was.

Hi Barry,

David is spot on.

Additionally, in SAS 9.2 the name of the file was sdwprefs.txt.
