Hello,

I'm familiar with ODS PDF statement options for specifying document properties such as author, keywords, subject, and title.

How does one specify the document language?

Does SAS use the LOCALE system option to include it in accessible PDFs?

Thanks,

Randy

Hey Randy!

The PDF destination does use the system option locale to define the language property in the PDF files created by ODS, whether the file is tagged or not.  I am not finding any way to override this, so if that is what you are looking to do, please update here or create a tracking entry for Tech Support and I'll be happy to ask the RnD team if there are any locations I missed (I checked the SAS registry and don't see it set there).

Have a great week!

Bari

Hi Bari,

Thanks for confirming how SAS sets the PDF language property.  I don't need to override it, just looking for a better understanding of how it works.

I'm actually working on a system to programmatically make Excel files accessible by post-processing files created by the ODS Excel destination.  Understanding how it works for PDF, and that it isn't limited to accessible PDF,  makes me optimistic that SAS may do the same for Excel.

You too have a great week!

Thanks,

Randy
