Hi Teja,

Would you know how to remove the last tie value in rank? Please see example below. In that example we would like to remove the "F" but everytime we unticked the "All Ties" option "C" will be vanished.

Hi,

Good day!

Anyone here know how to remove the last tie value in rank SAS VA? For example, Top 5 (see below sample data). User want to exclude the ties in TOP5, so we unticked the "all ties" option so our expectations was "F" will be removed but instead of F it was C.

Sample Data:

Name Count

A 4

B 4

C 2

D 2

E 2

F 2

Expectations: Top 5

Name Count

A 4

B 4

C 2

D 2

E 2

Reality (Result): Top 5

Name Count

A 4

B 4

Hi,

Thank you for the response. I already solved our custom graph. What I did was I created a new custom graph bar and line but without Group. Meaning the new custom graph has Category and Measure only.

Custom Graph does not print due to custom sort

Hi,

I have encountered a custom graph with custom sort that does not print in pdf as in when I print to pdf the chart is just a blank square and I got a warning message "The server did not understand the application request for data". When I troubleshoot the issue like I tried to removed the custom sort then it can print. Anyone here encountered the same issue and what did you do? The graph requirement should sort properly.

Thank you for quick response. Yes, we already applied the row-level security and we already have the copy of SAS1779-2015. If we add computed column as conditional logic it is too long as we have many Users and I believe the data preparation expression has a limited length only. The reason why I am looking for function to determine the user-group is to lessen the length of expression. Thanks again.

Hi,

I would like to ask if would you know if there's a function to determine the user-group in sas visual analytics data preparation?

For additional information. Our requirement is to display the Department or Branch in just 1 Bar Graph as Category. Let say if the User is under Department Group the graph should display Department data only, if user is under Branch Group the graph display Branch data only. Thank you in advance.

distinct count in data preparation

Hi,

I would like to seek your help regarding distinct count in Data Preparation. Our requirements is to get the distinct count of employee id per year however the employee name is not unique but we need to display the employee name in the info window link as drill-through but in the main graph we should get the distinct employee count.

I tried below expression in data preparation no error but got incorrect result

expression: distinct(employee id)

aggregation: group by employee id, group by year, Employee Name has blank aggregation.

Please see below sample data. In below data the correct result should be 2013 = 2 employee id, 2014 = 3 but in my result which is wrong 2013=4 and 2014=4. Please help. Thank you.

Above solution is technically correct. However, we encountered long run due to our lookup DQs generate 36billion+ of raw data. Any suggestion to reduce the data? Thanks in advance.

In addition, below is the implementation we did.
We created a 9 lookup dq(s) to get the unique data please note that the data source of lookup dq(s) are from transaction table. After we created the 9 dq(s), we combined the 9 dq(s) to get the unique possible combination which generate 36billion of raw data. Please help. Thank you.

SAS VA: Could not execute the JDBC batch update

Anyone here knows the "server error: could not execute JDBC batch update"? For additional information, we encountered this error when saving case statement with more than 5 statements comparison and the query validation is valid. Please find attached error and case statement.

Hi,

I tried to create a simple custom graph and used same data source/data item without changing in the data set length, the custom graph can print. however, when custom graph has 2 or more graphs combination it can't print. Thank you.

Thanks Anna. We already figure out the root cause for sort issue of category, switching color etc. it is due to the missing values or no corresponding age band for specific filter. The solution is we created a lookup table and left join them to the raw data query to get or show the age band even they were not available or null from raw data query. however, we encountering long run when we ran the DQ as the lookup table consists of huge amount of data even they where unique rows (36 billion+ rows).

Hi Sam,

I tried to removed the Controls and Text objects (Title Heading) on the top of the dashboard still the same. But when I tried to decrease the size of the graph it can print up to 7 graphs only. So, I tried to added two more Sections, first Section includes the control and others objects text, 7 graphs etc., 2nd Section has 4 graphs and 3rd Section has 5 graphs and they were successfully printed to pdf but with 5 pages. 3 pages for 3 Sections and 2 pages for filters, so 1 section equals to 1 page. However, the client's requirement is to print the 16 graphs on 1 page.

How Do I Implement Conditional Grants on Multiple Table Columns in SAS Visual Analytics?

Hi Everyone,

I have come across this blog post from Michelle: https://www.metacoda.com/en/2014/01/conditional-grants-sas-visual-analytics/ which I found useful in implementing Row-Level Security.

I just need some help in tweaking the method in a way that allows different group of users to see different data from the other. This is more on the hierarchy of the user groups. Let's say we have two different columns from our table, namely: Group, and Department. Then we have two user groups that accesses the exploration, for example Group Heads and Department Heads. Each user in the Group Heads user group accesses data based on the column Group, whilst Department Heads acccesses based on Department. The thing now is that the data for the Group Heads should show the data item value from Group column, while the Deapartment shows the data item value from Department column.

Is there a way to implement this on a single exploration to show the data from either of the two columns (data items) based on the user group the current user belongs to? By the way, I am using SAS VA 7.1.

That's what I did. Or maybe our dashboards are crowded because our dashboards have 6 controls on the left.
