Sadly this is the situation for now for as far as i Know (Using 7.4)

I requested development to consider making a dropdown default value depending on a parameter or calculated field.

This way You could decide how the dropdown default should startup.

Maybe Development can pick this up...

Hi there,

we had a serious performance issue with ie and it was related to the virus scanning.

we had to trust the sas server in the virus scanner to get a normal IE performance.

Chrome did not have this issue.

We now have a good performance on both 7.4 as 8.2

Maybe this helps in Some occasions.

if you first create a calculated field with the if then else parameter realation it will work.

the new calculated field can be used in any further aggregated measure.

this works for me.

the rights to view and/or edit are set in the management console at user level.

the user has rights to edit or not, no way in between.

rights on folders or reports have no impact on this.

i have it working with only one difference.

I am not using a custom category, but created a small table with value euro/usd to fill the parameter.

this way you have no intervention with the data table.

if needed i could sent you the steps to take.

maybe this might help.

Create another calculated item being a time variable and use the following function.

Now just calculate the Hour/Minutes/Seconds form the previous calculated seconds variable.

there are multiple reasons but one is having a bar-graph with a min axis value not being 0

Of course this is no problem by it-selves but we often use the same bar-graph with multiple variables.

I use a button bar to chose between Kg/Val/M/M2/Conversion etc.

I calculate the report value depending on the value of the parameter from the button bar selection.

Sure you will understand that the min value of the axis is variable depending but I can not control this now.

We now always choose for auto axis with 0 as minimum but I know they would like something else.

Only option to solve that is to show 5 bar graphs at ones etc.

Please do not only think in axis limits but all other fixed values you can select like reference line, min/max slider value, etc.

With slider bars I would strongly prefer calculated limits to shuffle along with the current date at report startup

yes it does work with SharePoint of i-Frame will work. (SAS Tech support as source)

Sadly I have no info how to do this, because I never used it before.

Hi Manny,

Hope I get you right, but if you insert Images to the main page and link the report sections by theme it will work.

You can create your own images and upload them tot SAS VA.

In this screenshot you see two "buttons" that guide you to a special report page. (I abuse them to run stored processes )

Off course the main page can contain a big number of different Images (read buttons)

besides the automatic range there is no flexible axis range option yet in SAS VA 7.4 as far as I know.

sorry, no solution there.

@Sas.Develoment :

It has been suggested before to allow the axis ranges to be parameter depending.

This way we can calculate our own ranges and use them flexible, without maybe much extra development in SAS VA.

Maybe some likes might help out to get this done.

Hi There,

as already mentioned, hiding columns is not yet supported.

In stead of using different columns, you could add some Demo records to the database with a clear marked key.

For developer you only allow data access to these record. (So the reports is already ok for use)

If the admin agrees, he just has to allow the Actual planned users to read the real data. (excluding the Demo records)

This might solve your problem easily.

Hi Samir.

You can create an agregated measure (maybe combined with a calculated item) as being the querry expression.

The gouping will be done by the crosstable. From date to date is the filtering.

So if you start cut down the querry into serveral parts of SAS VA functionality, it should work.

If you see possiblilies in this appreach, I gladly help you out.

surely report definitions have NO impact on the performance of sas va.

As long as they are not in view or edit mode, they do not consume any performance and/or memory.

Only Some diskspace needed of cource to store the report definition.

Hi Samir,

if you create a crostab with the customer name as first column and the tax nummer as second,

you use the count as report value.

if you ad a sliderbar to this report you can select a date range. Link the silderbar to the crostab.

as far as i can judge your problem, this should do the job.

I could show you a sample with other data how its done.
